Senza dubbio c'è un ritorno di questi giubbotti teddy...che io per altro ho sempre amato. Girando per le strade di Parigi e Milano sembra un pò di essere tornati negli anni 60 o di essere nel campus di qualche università americana, dove questo oggetto di culto dagli anni 50 agli anni 80 è stato un vero e proprio simbolo di riconoscimento...infatti il colore del busto segue i colori dell'università, le maniche la scuola secondaria e sulla tasca è scritto l'anno di promozione. I vari Pach attaccati dietro o davanti erano trofei.
Oltre ad essere un accessorio firmato dalla scuola e indossato da quasi tutti gli studenti, questa giacca e la sua sigla dell'università...la "Varsity Letter" era un premio, una specie di trofeo attribuito agli sportivi più influenti...quindi possederla era un onore...ed è forse per questi motivi che oggi è diventato un oggetto vintage così ricercato.
No doubt there is a return of the teddy jackets...that I always loved by the way. Walking around the streets of Paris and Milan, looks a bit like being back in the 60's or being on the campus of any American university, where this cult object from the 50's to the 80's was a true symbol of recognition...in fact the color of the bust was following the colors of the university, the sleeves the secondary school and on the pocket was written the year of promotion.
The various Pach that were attached behind or in front were trophies.
Besides being an accessory signed by the school and worn by almost all the students, this jacket and its university initials...the "Varsity Letter"...was a prize, a kind of trophy awarded to the most important athletes...so it was an honor to own...and it is perhaps for these reasons that today has become such a researched vintage object.
